Advantages of Using the Mulch Ground Cover Films

• Early harvest of crops in winter

Ground Mulch Films Types

• Transparent Ground Mulch
Transparent mulch is well known. It has been used for many years on all types of crops. This mulch is the most effective of all covers in term of soil heating. The disadvantage of this cover is that it does not prevent from germination weeds.

• Black Ground Mulch
It absorbs visible light (photosynthesis) thus reducing germination weeds under the covered area significantly.

• Black and White Ground Mulch
From one side this plastic is opaque and blocks visible light, while the other side is white and reflects the visible light partially, thus prevents soil overheating
• Color-Selective light-transmitting Plastic
From one hand this plastic can increase soil temperature, on the other hand it reduces weeds under the plastic.
Color has a significant effect on soil temperature and the types of insects attracted to. This plastic available in brown, green, yellow and blue.

• Reflective Plastic
These covering plastic are reflecting UV partially, “blinding” insects and thus reduce crop diseases.

• Multicolored Plastic
These covers combine the advantage of black or brown covers in term of reducing bad weeds, and the advantage of colored covers in preventing crops diseases.
Color covers can be adapted to suit the type of crop and the growing season.
